How To Identify Rats
Rats are medium to large-sized rodents, typically measuring between 7 to 10 inches in length, not including their long, scaly tails which can add another 6 to 9 inches. They have fur-covered bodies that vary in color, often appearing brown, gray, or black. Rats possess relatively large ears that are prominent and almost hairless compared to their bodies. Their eyes are typically dark and beady, and their pointed snouts distinguish them from other rodents. One distinctive feature is their continuously growing incisors, visible when their mouths are open. Rats are known for their agility and adaptability, often observed scurrying quickly, making them easily distinguishable from other rodents.
