• "completely different experience with Orkin from these other reviews. We bought a house 3 yrs ago that had roaches, spiders, ants- you name it. It was vacant for a little while, and its located next to a 5 acre property that has a large section of over and undergrowth right against our property line. We tried to hire several local pest control specialists- friends of friends or local small business- and they couldn't fix the problem. I don't know if they just weren't thorough enough or did not have the resources to equip themselves with enough variety or quality of product & poison... they either only had powder- which is useless as soon as you vacuum or mop, or they only had spray and only worked the baseboards and corners of the room. We hired Orkin after about 6 mos, and Chris May- our first representative- was prompt, professional, and extremely thorough. They did inside, outside, in the walls (through electrical outlets, etc), inside cabinets... they used spray, and left bait. Within weeks, the issue was cleared up and we went onto a bimonthly maintenance plan (to keep our buggy neighbors in the trees outside from stopping in for a visit occasionally). Chris moved up the ranks into a management role, and now Vince is our guy. He is also very thorough, friendly, and consistent. We now only do quarterly maintenance. They gave us their cell numbers and we can call them anytime if there is an issue for them to come out and respray. Also, I think its important to note that the chemicals they use do not smell and do not affect our dog. We usually prefer to support small local businesses but in this instance, we are loyal to Orkin- at least our local SWFL branch! As a realtor, I refer them regularly."
