However, they did recommend their barrier protection to keep out wildlife intruders, like mice. it was expensive, but I had it done because I needed the odor to stop and I did not want any mice getting in. The Orkin perimeter barrier would seal entry points like gaps in the mortar of the block foundation and installing a fence around the deck that would also prevent them from getting in, and that fence would go down below ground about a foot. The job was done. I did call them back afterwards and told them that there were gaps still between some of the blocks in the foundation, and they told me only the gaps where light is showing through are sealed. OK, so I guess I misunderstood that point, but as long as no mice were getting in it was OK. There has been no mice in my house, but some are still getting into the basement because I’ve cleared out their carcasses, though none have been caught in any of the traps. The worst part is I still have an odor from time to time. Right now it seems to be coming from gaps between blocks! at the one year inspection the other day I brought this up to the inspector and was told “well because of the fencing barrier that was installed around the deck there are still gaps between blocks where light is shining through, but now that’s impossible for us to get to .” But this is the fencing barrier that they installed! So what does Orkin recommend at this point? His inspection concluded that I have no termites, but they recommend termite treatment to make sure I don’t get them. At this point I feel like they are not listening. They are not fixing my problem. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. Is it because I’m a woman? Is it because I’m a senior? Don’t know but I’ve had enough. Bye-bye Orkin."
