• "THANK GOODNESS FOR ORKIN! I live in Hawthorne at Lily Flagg Apartments, where we pay for pest control (Cook’s Pest Control) in our lease. However, we’ve had a drain fly problem almost since we moved in April 2023. The flies return each year in May, driving us crazy and making us MISERABLE. This year, I paid for an Orkin treatment out of pocket (since my apartment complex refused to reimburse me), but we still had flies. I called Orkin out again, and the technician suggested that there must be another apartment with the flies, as well. I asked around and discovered my neighbor had the same problem. Orkin came back out and treated the other apartment. They also gave us advice on how to minimize the problem while the poison worked. Within days, the number of flies dropped. After a couple of weeks, the flies were practically nonexistent. As of today, we have been fly-free for weeks!!! I wish I had hired Orkin sooner instead of dealing with the incompetence at Cook’s and the insensitivity at the leasing office. • "one time service, which had a 30 day guarantee, meaning they would come back if I saw any other pests. Regardless though, the technician said he wanted to come back at the end of the 30 days. I thought this was going to be great, and at first it was. They give great service on their first visit. While he didn't show up right during the scheduled time frame, he was close. The poison was strong, and I was pleased. However, for the second appointment, the office was unorganized. I scheduled an appointment and the technician called on the wrong day to ask if I was home. For the actual appointment day, I waited at home for hours for him to arrive without a show. I called him and he not only denied my call, but never called me back. Since it was the end of the day, I called the office the next day and arranged the visit for the same day. He asked to come out in the next 30 minutes, which was little time for me to get off work, but I did so because I was nervous I wouldn't get him again. I ran home, only to be stuck waiting again. He was another 30 minutes late. This time, he didn't even spray, just put down more traps. All that waiting and for what? The "guarantee" was such a waste of time, in my opinion. However, like I said, the first visit was good and the technician was nice, it just seems as if there was some great misunderstandings, organizational, and timeliness issues, especially with the repeated visits, which I found frustrating. I am not sure I will continue my service."
