• "Two years ago, I had a hoard of spotted lantern flies on the brick and soffit just under the roof of the house. Last year I did not see them, but this year they started coming back. Before the hoard came again, I wanted that area of the house treated as a preventative measure. The office representative said that a technician will come with a ladder and the area can be treated for the lantern flies. The representative further clarified that the lantern flies will have to be in contact with the pesticide for a period of time for it to be effective. I was satisfied with the condition since they tended to congregate there for hours. However, when the technician came, he said there is no treatment for lantern flies on a house. He said Orkin can treat them in trees and bushes. I was not a happy camper, given the two different stories I was told between the office and technician. Orkin personnel should have a uniform understanding of what pests can be treated, how they can be treated, and under what conditions. Customers should not be given false hope."
